I've recently been trying to spruce up my entryway because... well, because ever since we installed the built in shelves, we've just had a blank wall staring at you when you walk in the front door! I thought I'd do a big B (for Burns) and cut it out with my mom's scroll saw. I've never been good with the scroll saw, so I was a bit worried!
I found a free font online that I liked, and printed it out on
multiple sheets of paper, then pieced it together:
don't look too closely! The edges not what you'd call smooth... not even kind of.
I then painted it a nice turquoise... one of the colors I've started using around my house. I love it!
It needed a little something still though, so I edged the whole thing with
black, and it really made it stand out more.
It's a bit boring on the entryway wall though, seeing as it's all lonely up there.
Check back Thursday for another addition to the entryway!
It doesn't look so bad here on the living room wall, but there's too much blue.
I'll be posting about that blue chalkboard soon as well!
So what do you think? Does it look good in blue? I'm kindof liking the
pop of color, but what do you guys think?

what a great way to personalize your photo wall! hopped over from csi. my last name begins with a b, too, so if you ever get sick of your b, just let me know. ;)
ReplyDeleteLooks great, you've given me an idea for my new "French" guest bedroom. Which web site did you use for the font?
ReplyDeleteAunt B.
I think you did a great job! I recently did something similar, so I know how difficult it can be. :)
ReplyDeleteway to go, love the color!

ReplyDeleteThis looks really nice! Good Job! I love the color!
ReplyDeleteIt's perfect! Just the right amount of accent without overdoing it. You nailed the colour challenge. :)
