an exciting announcement

I have - yet again - disappeared! I took a break from this blog to focus on my new food blog: Killer Zebras. As it turns out though, I've had to take a break from that one as well. My energy was just completely zapped thanks to this:

That's right, baby number two is on the way!

Around Christmas time (I'm due December 28th) I'll have another one of these around...

That's my little Matthew Man at about 5 days old. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't ready to hold another one of those in my arms!

So my absense around here first started when Aaron and I were thinking it would be a good time to look at selling our small home and buying a bigger house. After all, housing prices are so low that we can actually afford the size house we need! I stopped working around projects around the house because in my head I was putting in a lot of effort that we really wouldn't be hanging around to enjoy... and then... 3 forclosures in our neighborhood! Yikes. Within 6 months the value of our home dropped to a point where it just isn't realistic to sell anymore. Thanks to this, we've changed our minds and are not moving anywhere! Probably for a few years at least.

Maybe it's early nesting or something, but if I'm going to have to live in our home for at least a few more years, I'm going to make it a home I want to live in. Plus I've come to the realization that we are going to be squeezing 4 people and a dog into our tiny living space. This means 3 things:

1: We need to get rid of soooo much junk
2: I can't have any half finished projects sitting around waiting to be done (because with a toddler and a baby, they might never get done)
3: If we are going to be that cramped, then our house needs to be as completely organized as it can possibly be... otherwise we will be constantly reminded of the fact that we are bursting at the seams!

So those are my three goals, and my deadline is any time before this baby is born! Be on the look out, I've already started working at home and while it's slow going right now, I am determined.

Wish me luck!

And good luck on all those projects. Perhaps you can squeeze in a cut and color into the mix? Pretty please??
