A night to remember

I have always wanted to host a dinner party. I've had people over for dinner, and been to other people's homes for dinner... but I mean a real dinner party. The kind you see in magazines and on TV. Invitations, place settings, decorations, fancy food, dressing up... it's all so extravagant and yet I think it would be so much fun! I have to admit that my favorite part of home magazines is where they give ideas for parties and they show adorable table settings and tips for decorations. From simply elegant to bright and cheerful, I wish I had the time to do every one of them!

Winter is coming and just look at these gorgeous table decorations: the snow, the branches, the pine cones - I love it! I want to decorate my house like this come winter!

My friends and family know I have a soft spot for pink - and just look at those chandeliers, and the tiny perfume bottle as a place card. It's all just so sweet.

So elegant, and I love the flowers!

This one reminds me of New Hampshire with the birch bark, and again with the white - I love white!

And on to the colorful - peacock feathers are just gorgeous, and I love the creative use here.

A beautiful spring get together - and tiny cupcakes at each table setting.

There's something about these big flower puffs that is so fun.

I adore the use of color here, just plain beautiful.

I've decided I need to throw a party, I don't know when or who I'm going to invite... but I doubt I will ever have real occasion to do this, so I guess I'm going to have to make up a reason. And my reason is: because I want to. So who wants to come?

  1. PS do you remember Liz Crocker from NH? Maybe not as she was my age. She keeps a blog I think you may like (some of these pictures remind me of her work). Check it out. http://whimsyfloral.blogspot.com/
